Designing your dream home is perhaps the most important aspect of any self-build or renovation project. It can be challenging weighing up the options for internal layouts and external finishes. The Build It Live shows offer practical information, expert advice and a lot of exhibitors to talk to, in order to help you design the home of your dreams!
Our daily seminars at each of the shows offer the opportunity to hear industry experts talking about the basics of designing a home, from How to add more space & value at 11.45 a.m. each day, to Designing your dream home at 15.45 p.m.
Build It’s team of expert magazine contributors are on hand all weekend at each of the Build It Live shows to offer bespoke, one-to-one advice for your project. If you’ve got a specific question about the design process, you can ask for independent advice at the Ask Our Experts lounge. Make an appointment and get expert input worth £00s for free!
The 3D Home Design stand is the best place to head to get an insight into digital home design. Pop to the stand and watch free demonstrations of the Build It 3D Home Designer tool, to help you visualise your home project in all dimensions. Head to the stand next to the Bookshop.
There are numerous architects and designers exhibiting at both Build It Live North West and Bicester, offering you the opportunity to meet potential providers for your project design needs. Gain independent advice, browse projects and ask them your burning questions!
At Build It Live North West and Bicester, you can meet a series of providers who offer complete design and build home packages, sometimes referred to as turn-key solutions (i.e. you’re opening your front door on a finished home!). Design and home build packages are becoming more popular and offer a great solution to the self-build challenge. Talk to possible suppliers at the show and decide whether this is the route you’d like to take.
Build It has teamed up with Potton to create a series of Self Build Academy taster sessions. These 20 minute taster sessions are an opportunity for you to get a ‘taste’ of what to expect from their full day courses, which run at Potton’s show centre throughout the year. Sessions cover lots of topics, including The Design Process Explained, taking place at 2pm each day.
